📋 Requirements
- •A first degree in human resource management, business administration, the social sciences or a related discipline.
📝 Description
- •The role
- •You will run human resources for both firms from one shared function.
- •Your job is to make sure each firm hires the right people, brings them in properly, pays them correctly, reviews their performance fairly and keeps them.
- •Both firms are growing and their HR foundations are still being put in place.
- •You will write policies, set up records and run the people calendar, not just administer what already exists.
- •What you will do
- •Recruitment and onboarding
- •Manage recruitment for both firms from role brief to offer: job adverts, screening, interview scheduling, reference checks and offer letters.
- •Prepare employment contracts and keep signed copies on file for every staff member.
- •Run onboarding so that every new joiner has access, tools, a named supervisor and a structured first week before they arrive.
- •Manage confirmation at the end of probation, transfers and exits, including a recorded exit conversation for every leaver.
- •Policy and records
- •Develop and maintain an HR policy and staff handbook for each firm, compliant with Nigerian labour law, covering leave, conduct, grievance, discipline and exit.
- •Keep complete and confidential staff files, leave records and disciplinary records for both firms.
- •Maintain job descriptions for every role and support the partners in building a progression ladder for professional and support staff.
- •Payroll and statutory obligations
- •Prepare monthly payroll inputs for each firm and coordinate with finance on processing.
- •Make sure PAYE, pension, NSITF and ITF obligations are computed, remitted and filed on time for each entity.
- •Keep the register of professional memberships and practising licences, including ICAN, ANAN and annual NBA practising fees, and report gaps to the partners each quarter.
- •Performance, learning and employee relations
- •Run the appraisal calendar for both firms: objective setting, mid-year and annual reviews, with documented outcomes.
- •Plan and track training and continuing professional development against each firm’s budget.
- •Handle grievances and disciplinary processes fairly and in line with policy, escalating to the partners where required.
- •Report monthly on headcount, vacancies, leave, attrition and appraisal completion for each firm.
- •What we are looking for
- •A first degree in human resource management, business administration, the social sciences or a related discipline.
- •At least three years’ hands-on HR experience, ideally in a professional services, legal or accounting firm.
- •Experience running the full employee cycle: recruitment, onboarding, appraisal, discipline and exit.
- •Working knowledge of Nigerian labour law and employer obligations, including PAYE, pension, NSITF and ITF.
- •Strong organisation and record keeping, and good Excel skills.
- •Clear written and spoken communication, and the confidence to advise partners on people matters.
- •Strict discretion with salary, disciplinary and personal information.
- •It would be an advantage if you have
- •CIPM membership, completed or in progress.
- •Experience supporting more than one entity or business unit.
- •Experience with an HR or payroll system.
